On week days I mostly work for school until midnight so I thought a break this weekend would be a good idea. I couldn't afford to take the whole weekend off because that would've put me far behind. Yesterday I went to see Fame at the movies with Danitsja. The movie was not bad but hm a bit too similar to the original movie. But it was definitely nice to stop thinking and worrying about school!
Yesterday evening I went to a surprise birthday party. It was for the mother of my sister's boyfriend. I didn't know a lot of people but I had a good time :)
Today I slept in. I needed that since I think I'm starting to get a cold. This afternoon I went to Ghent to take some photos for my assignment. It's really hard to find good spots but it's so much fun to discover new places!

Hm, I'm off to read The Importance of Being Earnest by Oscar Wilde!

Oops

Some of you might know that I can be clumsy, distracted and confused. Well, now that my life is really busy, I get even more distracted and confused. This afternoon I went to Ghent because I have to make a portfolio with pictures from the city I study in. I had a really hard time finding good places to photograph but in the end I got 4 good pictures. However, when I came home I uploaded the pictures onto my computer and what did I notice? The date wasn't correct. The thing is, we do not only have to hand in the actual portfolio, but we also have to hand it in digitally because they are going to check the exact dates of the pictures.
It's not a really big deal because I can go back tomorrow and take those 4 pictures again without losing too much time. But I'm just disappointed in myself for not having checked the date beforehand. It's so stupid.

But other than that, my day has been pretty good! I went to the hairdresser this morning because it was really necessary. My hair grows pretty fast. The hairdresser cut at least 5 cm and my bangs are a bit shorter.
I also hung out with a friend from college!:)

So tomorrow I'm going to take pictures again and I might go shopping as well. I will only have classes in the afternoon so I can sleep in a bit :)

I'm alive!

It's been so long since I have posted. Unbelievable! I don't know why I have neglected LJ for such a long time. I really miss you all and I miss writing down what's going on in my life.
Let's start with that. As you all know, I'm in college. It's a completely different life! You cannot compare it to secondary school. It's much more fun, popularity doesn't exist anymore, I get to go out more and live. But studying in college is very hard. You don't have to go to class, you don't have to do preparations during the semester. It's a big responsibility and it involves a lot of time and sacrifices. I did study a lot and went to every single class but I apparantly didn't do enough because my first exam results can prove that.
If you want some good advice: revise as much as possible, read articles and watch documentaries that involve the subjects you're studying.

Now about my social life. This year I go out way more than last year. It's something you automatically do when you go to college. As student I frequently have free days! This semester I always have Fridays off! That gives me the opportunity to go shopping or to go to the movies when it's pretty calm! I can tell you, shopping in the city, when everyone under 18 is at school is awesome! I didn't like shopping that much last year because it's so stressful when a lot of people are in the shops. Now I can shop and relax at the same time!

I wouldn't want to go back to my 'previous' life because it was quite boring. The only thing I miss is the fact I didn't have that much responsibility and school was way easier. But that's really all! My life is so much better now! I don't feel lonely anymore. I of course think it would be great to be in love but I believe it's going to come along some time. Right now I am happy and that's all that really matters!

14!!

Yesterday I went to the movies with my friend and we watched Mamma Mia! I absolutely love the movie! It was such a feel-good movie =)
I am not a huge DVD addict anymore but I would love to have that movie on DVD.

Today the weather is really nice again! I enjoyed the silence outside. Almost everyone in my street is gone to work or school so I can only hear the wind and birds!
This morning I slept in and cleaned the bathroom and kitchen. While doing that I sang along to Hilary Duff's second album. I am not such a big Hilary fan anymore but I still enjoy her music. Especially the song 'Haters'. It's such a cool song! =)

I decided to eat less chocolate and candy. So far I have succeeded =) My afternoon dessert will be an an apple. I should go running again as well. Maybe tonight or tomorrow! That reminds me of the fact I need to charge my iPod! It's been weeks since I've listened to it.
Can someone give me a list of songs that are jogging appropriate?

random entry

In the last couple of weeks I frequently clicked on the 'post an entry' button but never actually posted something because I don't know what to write about. But I really miss being active on LJ so I decided to write this entry. I'm very sorry I hardly replied to any of your entries. I read all of them though!

Hm maybe there is something I can tell you all. Friday it's my cousin's 18th birthday and me and my sister are invited to her party. My sister is going to buy a present tomorrow so I'll give her some money so we can give my cousin something together.
In 1 month and 12 days it's my 18th birthday and I don't know what to do. It's not like I have enough friends to give a huge party but I want to do something. Any suggestions?

Next week I'm going to get myself registered in college. I used to look forward to it, and okay I do look forward do it, but I'm really scared. I hope I will be able to make friends and I hope that the studies won't be too hard for me.
I often think back of my last year in high school. I miss that. I really do.

I need a new haircut, by the way. My hair is quite long. I don't know what to do with it. Suggestions are more than welcome!

this week

This week was quite eventful! On Monday I had to work really late since it was the national holiday in Belgium. On Tuesday a friend and I ran 5 km! It was really hard but we're both glad we accomplished that! On Tuesday night my friend Debby slept over and the next day we went shopping in Ghent! We had a great time! On Thursday I went to Bruges to see my friend Evie. She talked a bit about the movie 'In Bruges'! It's so funny they filmed a movie there! I've known the city my whole life and yeah =p I really want to go see it! Yesterday I went to the sea with the teenagers. The trains were so full and so were the beaches. It was so hot. But it was nice! In the evening I went to the feasts in Ghent and it was really cosy!

I don't have anything planned for today and I don't mind at all because I really need my rest. I want to sing and watch TV!

I'm having some serious mood swings lately! One moment I feel so bored & lazy and the other moment I feel incredibly energetic and inspirational. Weird, isn't it? I'm saving for a laptop and I'm so looking forward to working on it in my room! I will finally have some peace and quiet! As I don't know much about laptops I was wondering if some of you could maybe give me recommendations and tips?
Oh, I have one more question. Is Windows Vista compatible with iTunes?

Sore throat.. hmm.. not quite nice. I was already feeling a bit weaker these last couple of days. When I went running I got tired from the start so that's not normal. I am going to take it slow tomorrow. No work-out for me. I'll be a couch potato! I've just finished watching the fourth episode of Gossip Girl and I love it! Not only the whole concept but also the outfits! My my my, I want to have Serena's whole wardrobe please.

questions + ranting

First of all I will answer your questions!!

1) How would you like to spend the first date with a guy that you really like?
I want the first date to be very relaxing so I was thinking of bowling! That might sound stupid and completely unromantic but I think you can
get to know someone by bowling together.

2) If you could play in an old movie(that is, a movie that we have already seen;not a future one), which would that be and what role would you
like to play?
Holly Golightly in the Breakfast At Tiffany's!!! It's such a great movie and Holly is a lovely character!

3)What do you see yourself doing in the future? Career, where do you want to live, family, etc..:P
I would love to be an editor of a magazine! I would do research on the latest music, movies, fashion, etc.! I would interview inspirational people, write articles in several languages and write columns!
I don't know yet if I want to marry and have children. My opinion often changes! But I know I don't want to live here anymore. Not in this town! I hope I will be able to live somewhere else.

4)If you could choose any, which disney character would you most like to be?:D
I would love to be Belle of Beauty And The Beast!

5) Do you plan on marrying someday?
I don't know yet! But I do have to admit that I would love to wear a traditional white wedding dress!

Becoming a singer is not really realistic but it's a dream job of mine..

Since yesterday afternoon I have been pretty bored. Back when I had to study I was dreaming of freedom, of doing the things I love to do. Now that I do have the time I just waste it by listening to the same songs over and over again, watching too much episodes of Beverly Hills 90210 and to top it all, I seem to annoy everyone.
I need to do something! Okay, I'll have a vacation job soon but I want to do something creative as well. I have been thinking of vlogging (video blogging). I get inspired by a lot of vloggers and would love to make my own videos. Just one problem. I have this stupid camera and Windows Movie Maker doesn't have a lot of options. This is really frustrating. I would love to have an editing program but sadly I am already saving money for tons of other stuff like a laptop, clothes, etc.

I also want to learn how to cook. Since I'll be 18 in a couple of months I should be able to cook a proper meal, don't you think? So now I've made a recipes book. Another thing is that I don't know how to do the laundry and iron. I seriously gotta learn that as well.
It's after midnight but I do not want to go to bed. I am not tired because I have drunk too much Coke.

But listening to Jordan Pruitt's song 'One Love' makes me feel a lot better. It's so summer-ish and catchy! A must have for your playlist this summer! =)

Graduation

I am the proud owner of a high school diploma!! Yahoo! This feels so good! Tonight I had graduation. We all went to the town hall where the even took place. Speeches and little concerts were given but of course the moment we got our diploma and report was the most special moment!
After graduation there was a reception at our school. It was really nice! I am sure I'm going to miss the school because I've been a student there for a long time. But it's of course a closed chapter. I'm about to step into the real world. I am really excited but of course a bit scared too!
I wanted to share these thoughts with you because I really consider this as an important moment in my life. I can say I truly am happy!

P.S.: I will answer the questions of my last entry soon!

Hey everyone! I was just thinking of something. I never do interactive stuff here on LJ so I've decided that everyone that will reply to this post will have to ask me 2 questions (no yes-no questions allowed!)

Anyways, tomorrow I have my last exam and I will have finished at 9.30 am. I shall be thrilled. I'm sure of that!!!!!!! =)

- clean up my room

Today we had our very last class of Math ever! (if I of course pass this year!) Isn't that fantastic? I've been waiting for this ever since primary school! Our Math teacher handed out a poem and wanted to wish us good luck for the future =)
Our Economy teacher bought us all ice cream! That was so nice of her! Today was a really good day at school. It's so much fun, counting down the periods =) 18 periods left!
Today I have finished all my summaries. We have this team of 4 people in my class. We each work on several summaries and send them to each other. But we don't give them out to anyone else of the class because we don't want them to take advantage of our efforts.
Tomorrow I'm already going to study a huge part of Economy. She warned us that we won't be able to study it all in one afternoon.
Tomorrow I have my journalism presentation together with a friend. We don't have to know it by heart or anything so I think it'll be okay =)
Silvia's Sunday's breakfast inspired me so I ate strawberries tonight! It was delicious!

my to do list for tomorrow:

- reread the presentation for journalism tomorrow morning
- study Economy
- study Math
- make sure I have enough pens, markers, pencils so I might have to go shopping tomorrow!
- charge mobile
- make a study schedule for this weekend
- make a list of who needs to bring what for our last lunch at our school (our table decided we have to do something special for our last lunch
together =))

I better clean up the mess on the living room table. Summaries are all over the place!

I've been really nervous this week because of my computer that crashed and I had tons more work because of that. I also think my concentration and motivation is going down down down. I think my last normal report will suck big time. And when I say this, it is really disastrous. I fear that is going to demotivate me for my upcoming exams. But luckily I have been preparing a lot already.
I do gotta realise that from tomorrow on I have got to work my butt off. I don't think 5 hours a day will do. I have never been so sick of classes in my entire life. Everyone agrees. Normally you'd think it'd be a motivation that I'm going to graduate in 3 weeks but that's exactly what's bothering me. Because I only have 3 weeks left I'm not motivated at all. This is really frustrating.
I was actually planning on doing some work tonight but I am way too tired. I haven't slept enough this week and I just want to relax for one night. Now that it is still possible. Next Friday night I have my last drama exam and I don't have a good feeling about it. I'm not worrying about the text or where I have to stand or anything. I'm just scared that the emotions won't be good enough. But yeah, I am going to practise every day. It should work.

I'm sorry this is quite negative but I can't help it. This is how I feel and writing this down helps me. I would love to read some comments, even though you don't agree with anything I have said. I would love to read what you think.
